Dychový orchester Štós
Dychový orchester Štós was founded in 1925 by Gustáv Wlaszlovits, the grandson of the owner of the knife factory in Štós.
Throughout its existence, the band was always active, with the exception of one year during the Second World War. Interestingly, during this long period the band had only four members. The orchestra’s greatest success was due to Peter Hartmann, a native of Smolnícka Huta, who was the bandmaster from 1976-2008 and trained around 150 young musicians. At present, the full Dychový orchester Štós has up to 20 players. The organizational leader is Gabriel Müller, the artistic director is Vladimír Müller Jr.
